About DJ KAYODJ KAYO is Kayoko K Ahrestani who was born on the fringe of Tokyo in snowy winter in 1984. She was raised there with plenty of musical and on-stage experiences in her early age including piano and classic ballet. She always loved classical music and her very first CD was "The Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky. She decided to see outside Japan and came to Australia alone soon after her 16th birthday. A few years later encountered a guy from bombay, who became her husband several years later, introduced her to her first psytrance event in Adelaide. She fell in love with the kicks, rambling basslines and complex layers of the music and soon started collecting the music. In 2004 she developed a strong passion for mixing and began performing at numerous events in Adelaide and Sydney, Australia. On her return to Japan in 2005, she became a member of the Psy 16 crew and performed alongside many talented names from both local and overseas. In 2007, she was invited to join Sonic Traveler Music as their label DJ, while she also promoted the culture as a translator and editor, for their free bilingual psytrance music and culture magazine. At the same time, she was a resident DJ for the famous Guerilla party organizer - Raligerila. Playing at their monthly Guerilla psytrance events to packed dance floors, in Yoyogi Park - the center of busy Harajuku, gave her immense recognition in the Japanese trance circuit. In 2008, she experienced the lovely vibes of Goan beaches and high energy dance floors, while she rocked it behind the console not just in Goa, but metro cities like Bombay as well. Her style is often described as seamless and mesmerizing, whether it is a dark, foresty, night time stomper or a morning euphoric journey topped with melodies. DJ KAYO as a label DJ for Soundkraft Records (AU) and Vantara Vichitra Records (IN) is a promising act and her performances leave her audience spell bound. Followers
